Classes and information 2017-18

All weekly classes are for mixed abilities from beginners through to experienced dancers and are held on the same evening of the week unless stated otherwise. All classes welcome new members at any point in the year  between September and April.

BASIC SKILLS CLASS   In addition to the weekly classes we now run a Basic Skills class on the second Saturday of each month  in Heyn Hall, St Mark’s Dundela C of I, 2 Sydenham Avenue, Belfast, BT4 2DR (corner of Holywood Road and Sydenham Avenue). This class is to complement the weekly classes and not as an alternative to them!  Evelyn Redmond will once again take this monthly class,  where in previous years everyone really felt they were able to learn much about the basics of SCD  and practise in a  “safe atmosphere” ,  at a pace suited to those who are relatively new to Scottish country dancing. Even “old hands” remarked they learned a great deal which sometimes cannot be easily tackled in general classes where there is such a range of ability and experience.

You are welcome to come along and see how you like Scottish Country Dancing at any of our classes. There is no specific dress code but you are advised to wear light, flat shoes. Each class normally lasts 2 hours and classes run from September to Christmas then January to April. Visitors fees are £6 for non members but will be refunded if you join the Branch after 4 classes .
